Artists from Fresh Eye Arts and participants from MSS got moving during a performance by the Kalpulli KetzalCoatlicue, an indigenous learning community that practices traditional Aztec dance. The Minneapolis-based group is dedicated to teaching indigenous musical traditions to people of all ages. They even invited Joyce Diller, who has attended MSS for over 45 years, onstage to show off some moves!
In addition to Kalpulli KetzalCoatlicue, we hosted performances by Nanilo, Ticket to Brasil, and Polka Sol through a grant from the St. Paul Cultural STAR program. Thank you to the Kalpulli KetzalCoatlicue and COMPAS for coordinating this exciting event, and to the Cultural STAR program for making it possible!
