Steven Jacobson
Steven Jacobson’s paintings focus on portraiture of characters either from popular culture or from his imagination. His interests include historical figures, as well as musicians like The Beatles. He often likes to build stories around these characters and will describe different things they would do. Steven occasionally steps away from portraiture to create landscapes. Steven is inspired by his love of nature to create places he would like to see in real life. His portraits and landscapes are developed with many layers of paint added over weeks or months. Steven often revisits paintings and adds new layers on top of older work, creating an ever-shifting portfolio that lives and breathes in real time as Steven develops his practice.
